My name is Esperanza, I’m a student in the field of Ministry, Mission and Media at Norwegian School of Theology (Det Teologiske Menighetsfakultet) in Norway. Ministry, Mission and Media is a study programme developed to equip students for pastoral work and preaching in churches and congregations around the world. While studying I obtain this specialist academic qualification, combined subsequently with year’s media experience. As a result I continue to gain a rich and varied IT, design and multimedia skill and now in designing and developing high quality multimedia artifacts for personal, church and mission context.
At first, I only wanted to explore and started to do it as a hobby but as I progresses I realized that I had a gift and it should be used properly no matter how big or small it is. Furthermore, I also developed a sense of responsibility on my work. Therefore, I am trying my best to do something that reflects the blessings of God in my life.
“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.” (1 CORINT 12:4-6, Esv)
Secondly, I knew that It was very natural for me to be creative. I had a passion to see rich colors in animations. I am very fascinated on video’s specially when it is in high-definition and how it has been produced. I did some animation before trying to understand the program of a game and create my own sets of sequence. I created my own world in animations and feel happy about it. While learning, I also developed my other aspects of gifts. I began to do photography and learn to use different editing software available that time. Consequently, I had a hard time in photography and video because of my personal traits, I was so shy to do any in public but I need to deal with this trait. To have some decent photos and videos I need to do it while exposing myself in the others. But it was a matter of experimentation, and as a result I dealt with my fear of not succeeding in the long run. In the gospel of Matthew (Matt 25:29) further asserts that…
“For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.”
Blogging is so much different for me. It takes me to another level of understanding of my purpose in life. Moreover, I was driven to blog because of my gratitude feeling for the love of God and how I am created unique and special. Additionally, I was inspired to share my stories to the people I knew and love me too. And I was thankful that I was given this opportunity to be more equipped for the ministry of Jesus Christ. Eventually, writing became my comfort zone while I live independently in a foreign land. “There is HOPE after all”, a caption I put in one of my video’s in my YouTube channel. “But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.” (JAMES 3:17, Esv)
I begin to trust the Lord by facing my fear. And I believe being a blogger is not a coincidence but one of the great plans of God. It was a privilege to share the goodness and greatness of the One Great God who was always there for us to prepare us before He comes.
